• Your healthcare provider may ask you to have blood tests done to see what may be causing your carpal tunnel syndrome or to rule out other conditions.
  

• Electrodiagnostic studies can help confirm the carpal tunnel syndrome diagnosis, measure how severe your carpal tunnel syndrome is, and provide information about how you might respond to surgery.
• Nerve conduction studies are the main type of electrodiagnostic study done for carpal tunnel syndrome.

• Your healthcare provider may ask you to get an ultrasound of your wrist.
• The ultrasound lets your healthcare provider see what the inside of your carpal tunnel looks like and if there might be additional pressure on the median nerve.
