Psychologists are health professionals who have training and expertise in human behaviour and psychological health. Psychologists are not medical doctors, but they hold a doctorate or a master's degree.
Psychologists evaluate and treat people who have mental health problems, such as depression. Psychologists also provide counselling and other mental health services. In Canada, psychologists do not prescribe medicine.
Psychologists are licensed in the province in which they practice.
