For the Poison and Drug Information Service (PADIS) in Alberta, call 1-800-332-1414 anytime day or night.

Approximately 9 out of 10 poisonings happen in the home. A poison is anything that has toxic effects and may hurt you or make you sick if you’re exposed to it. This can include:

  • chemicals
  • household cleaners
  • plants
  • medicines
  • bites or stings
  • things in the environment around you
