Research shows that people need to stay active every day to be healthy. As you look at making leisure changes, plan to get active. Start slowly and build up your activity level. Choose activities that will help you build up your energy, flexibility, and strength. If you do this, you’ll:
- feel better physically and emotionally
- be more fit
- stay at a healthy weight
- be more alert
- have better posture and balance
- sleep better
- have a better sense of well-being
- relax and have less stress
- concentrate better
- develop healthy friendships and relationships
